    My latest graphic was built

    RefurbishChallenge_Feb-21-2007

from this photo taken by my husband in his little hometown of Kilbourne, Ohio.  I sent the photo to our group with these instructions:

The photo is a store front.

Your challengeedit the store front, making it appear as redone for your new store to move into.

Do everything you can do to make it look appealing.  New paint, color, business signs, clean up the front, maybe some grass or plantings???? so people who walk by will want to come in to look, shop, buy.

Do what you think you would do to this store if you were actually renting it to move a business into.  Your personality, have fun with it.

RefurbishChPart-H-FS_Feb-21-2007_RSBlain  This is what I did with it and below,

RefurbishChPart-H2-FS_Feb-21-2007_RSBlain I tried to put glass into the windows.  I am not sure I accomplished it.

John Clark asked about doing the challenge I had posed, see what he did here j61johnclark , very nice work and some wonderful takes on the graphic.  I really liked his window lighting.

  • Our blogs on Xanga are life our diaries, special to us and our friends. I wouldn’t like an unknown person ” looking ” through my blogs wothout commenting. It’s very rude ! Protected seems the answer and I know that those who use it are happy with it. I haven’t any thing worth ” pinching ! so I won’t have your problem.   Marie. PS Love the ” new ” store , you are talented.

  • I really like the new storefront.  It might need some more realistic shading on the wall instead of flat color.  Of course that depends on  what look you’re going for.  It would look really cute in an animated movie.  For this challenge, do you wish us to get photos of old storefronts or work from the one you have here.  I wouldn’t want to violate any copyright that might be on the photo.

  • You really did a great job . Hope your doing well God Bless sweety

  • You have excelled yourself again here Becca. As you know I am currently taking the challenge. I will post, when complete on my own Xanga, However there is no chance of getting it as good as this. I know the time and effort you have put into this. Well Done! I see a fellow called John Clark has posted a comment above. He also says he is going to do the challenge. I am looking forward to that one. I think the telephone wires might need some alteration at the top either all behind the building or all in front, apart from that and John’s suggestion, I’d say 19 out of 20.

  • I love what you did with the building!!!!!! It’s fabulous!!!

As far as your reader? I have no advice. Maybe just contact him and talk… That’s probably what I’d do.

  • There are so many needy people out there that need to take from others.  We are blessed that we give

  • If you are in pubblic you have to accept also the bad things that go with that.
I understand your frustation, But I think some of this people are just curious and tehy like your stuff.
    It ok though?

    Have a nice weekend

  • I see you have marked your name on your work which would seem to make it difficult for anyone to say it’s their work. I do think the person viewing your photos was more curious than anything else. Personally, I fear posting photos of family, especially children. Where did the storefront challenge come from? You did a wondeful job on it.

  • Now you’ve got me paranoid.  I just finished cruising areound the site of a name that sounded familiar.  I went to the oldest post and cruised forward just browsing.  I didn’t recognize the person, so I left without commenting.  Now, from my tracks, are they going to become alarmed?  I hope not.  Sometimes it’s just fun to read someone’s site.  I may rethink my browsing.

  • I like browsing, too.  Often, if I don’t comment on someone’s blog, they will come and comment on mine—then I will go back and comment.  A couple of people who searched through my pictures have commented and told me why they did, which is fine.  I don’t want to go private or protected.  Several friends and family come and read my  blog, but refuse to sign up to Xanga.

I do like your second attempt at the picture.  In the first the windows just look like empty holes.  I like your photography sign!!

  • very realistic-looking, really.

  • It’s really cool, and a little scary, what computers can do with pictures these days. How do we know what’s real and what’s virtual? That aside, I do like your building. The addition of the cats and potential customer added life to the picture. Nice work!

  • If I knew how to do this, I would try it.  After I retire this summer, I am going to take some more computer classes to do more with this part of my life.  ha.  Been missing you.  Cyn

  • How fun!  You did a great job!

  • This can be called creativity , Becca . You make us go from the years 80 to the XXIth century only with the change of the front . I have to say the new version is more attractive .
I didn’ t know Bonnie was a gardener . I tell my DIL she had to wait for the arrival of an American gift .

    Love Michel

  • Thanks for your recent visit to my site no way can I attempt to alter anything you have put on but the idea seems good I am not too good with photos  Cheers marj{]

  • that’s kind of fun. I like how you put pictures in the windows

  • Your picture is awesome. Your photographic touch in the windows is great.
