    A Poem

    Saint Pat’s Day 2009
     © RSBlain March 16, 2009

      From Irish Eyes
      To old tales of wives
And green beer poured at pubs,
        Where Leprechauns
      Spur drinkers on
      To Gaelic tunes and song,
The Shamrocks sway at rivers edge
While sheep lowe on the hill
And Red haired, Irish lads keep court
With green eyed, cream skinned girls
      Ireland,
    H
er story book, is live and daily swelling
      With emerald beauty unsurpassed
      Her history in the telling.

The Quiet Man gets better with each viewing.  What wonderful breaks movies make in the seasons .

    Take care of you, Xanga,
    Becca

  • Hi, Becca!  (waves)

    Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

  • Becca to be able to write such nice poetry and create such beautiful graphics which are so obviously Irish in origin, makes me think you surely must have Irish blood in your veins. —Tim

  • I love the lamb photo as I associate lambs with spring. The Irish say that potatoes should be planted on St. Patricks’s day for the best crop – now I don’t know if that is true because I don’t grow potatoes   Marie PS great poem.

  • wow love the art work and the poem. So cheerful

  • Bravo for the poetry Becca . I believed it was a song .  Please put some music with it !
I like especially the horse .

    Love

Ps : I read Marie’s comment above . Here we say that potatoes may be planted today , St Joseph ‘ s Day ( 19th of March ). But it is early . this afternoon I dug the ground of the veggie garden .

  • Dear Becca.

I’ve now been with Xanga almost half a decade, and am posting about once a week. I’m glad I decided to wander over here. I only now noticed you’re only posting “Xanga Holiday” posts. These wallpapers are fantastic. I especially like the first.

Your poetry hasn’t lost it’s touch. You make the holiday fresh.

  • Hello Becca ?
     I send you all of my support ;
I think janine looks like you . For two days she feels herself without dynamism . I believe it is the consequence of the shock of surgery and anesthesy . I have also to say she did too much lately . At this moment she rests in the lounge in front of the new fireplace . But all in all she is well .
To keep high spirit helps much .
I suggest you post a picture or two ; This is a good goal and helps to forget the drairy day . Go on !!
It is sunny here ( but cold in the morning ) . Now I am going  to the garden to dig it and  keep it ready for the sowing and planting soon .
    Love
    Michel

  • I have somehow missed this post. Love the poem. I have a friend leaving tomorrow for the emeraldest of Isles. Lucky guy.
