Flower Smellers
This dear Xanga lady, ButSheBites, has flattered me with an invitation to participate in the group, Flower Smeller’s.
Exactly what is a “Flower Smeller”? My definition of the term “Flower Smeller” would include, anyone attempting life, in the rugged terrains of this world, in a positive way, reaching out in whatever fashion he/she is able, with an encouraging word or a hug. He/She is someone who makes attempt to appreciate the good and uncomplicated blessings which exist in each of their own worlds. I’m not sure I fit perfectly into my own definition of “Flower Smeller” but I try and I am aware of many Xangan’s who are courageous in their attempts.
As a nominee I am requested to select 5 people to share in the benefits of a growing group of Flower Smellers. The benefits being the opportunity to hear or read and write of just how “Flower Smellers” impact ours and their own world.
The Flower Smeller Rules
1. If, and only if, you are awarded the flower smeller badge or are a founder of GO! Smell the flowers can you then award the badge to 5 others by writing a post with links to the 5 blogs or websites that you choose.
2. You can then award this badge to a maximum of 5 people per month from now until eternity as and when you come across more flower smellers.
3. Link to this post so that people can find the origin of where the award started and find their way to this community.
4. Proudly display the Flower Smeller Award (
) with a link to the post that you wrote announcing your award.
5. You are welcome to award this badge to non-bloggers if you choose, maybe someone who doesn’t have their own website or blog but could contribute to something over a flowers!
6. Be prepared to be approached to write a 500 word account of yourself to feature in our 2009 book – The Flower Smellers that some of founders will be featuring in!
I like the idea behind the Flower Smellers group. Be sure to READ HERE.
Click Here for About Flower Smellers. There is a creative video on the page which is interesting plus text, not long and drawn out but nicely done. OBLIGATIONS: there really are none except to pass along a bit of the upbeat in your life.
Now some nominations of 5 Xangans.
rosebudsinwyo, because of her lifetime courageous struggles and her never ending retention of a beautiful outlook, always taking time to Smell the Flowers.
dreadpirate, who in his rugged way is always reaching out to encourage anyone who will listen.
Stanelle, who knows right from wrong and lives her life with determination to help others discover the same.
twoberry, who doesn’t sit and wait for things to happen but works diligently to determine outcomes.
USA_troops_aide, who gives and gives never failing to remember the troops.
There are more but I am allowed only 5 so there it is. Be sure to contact them if you want to be listed with them as a FLOWER SMELLER.

I remember that my grandmother would diligently gather the first leaves of dandelions to eat every spring. We were horrified – eat a WEED?! – but I have noticed some very suspicious leaves in my freshly purchesed salads from time to time. Gramma would be horrified that I PAID to eat a weed! : D
Very cool group. You definitely belong!
Beautiful of you to include me in this. I promised I’d get to work early, so that’s all the time I have to say for now — except, also, THANK YOU!
ah ! the Dandelions , Becka ! what a unknown glory . I remember having posted about on Xanga 6 years ago , in May 2002 http://www.xanga.com/item.aspx?user=fauquet&tab=weblogs&uid=1927092 .
Lisa always has good ideas !

Thank you for the award!!! I’m honored that you find me to be a ‘flower smeller’…
just yesterday I was commenting to someone (who asked me about my joblessness) that i was ‘happier than a honeybee in a field of flowers’… so this is very appropro right now for my current state of mind!
You are correct when you say I’ve gone thru some stuff… seems it’s just the way my life is… but you know, I posted a couple days ago about how I deal with that stuff…
You too, are one of my favorite ‘flower smellers!’ I know some of the things you have encountered in your life and I’m not sure if I could do it, but I’d nominate you again!!!
Thank you for this award! I hope to always maintain that attitude…
Lovely idea. You will do well
I love what you did with this!
Ohhhhhh that seems like a ot of work! I will just have to stick to planting and cutting flowers for my wife!
I really love these photos Becca, flowers and seeds. Could have been taken in England. We have masses of Dandelions especially at this time of the year.
Thank you for all the nice comments which you left on my photos…(paintings) the second last one… the photo, was a 2 second exposure in which most of the subjects were stationary, except for two who exchanged places as they passed in front of the lense. The image seemed thought provoking enough to post.
I like wild flower and let remain them in my garden and sometimes enjoy..
Happy Mother’s Day, Becca. I love the dandelion pictures. My grandmother used to make dandelion greens and serve them with vinegar.
Ah, what lovely and creative photos. Happy Mother’s Day.
i came here to reply to your comment and got distracted by all this flowersmelling going on! glad you were able to pop in & that you enjoyed the picture of my nephew’s “mother’s day gift” to his mom…
thank you for your support.
Hi Becca—Yes re. dandylions etc—-simple subjects are by far the best –as is shown in your great pics— well done
Wonderful dandelion pics —these really are great sharp focus close ups indeed Becca
roses don’t usually smell, not the ones I usually smell, but yesterday I found some that were adorable
