  • Reporting in … LE

Hmmmmmm 3 weeks since my last entry.

I have been busy, reading, writing and rithmitic, personal time, sudoku, photography and trying out new restaurants.  Last week an Indian Restaurant meaning India.  I know their cuisine can be wonderful.  Not this spot, everything prepared and tasting the same, all very hot with red curry.  I like curry but I also like variety.  We won’t try it again and am sure they won’t last.

1- I have been updating the Friendship Indiana site I built for them.
2- I am trying to update my photo xanga regularly meaning weekly as the weekly challenge are given plus a couple of extras from monthly challenges.
3- Microsoft Word and Publisher:  My sister Jeanne does a lot of writing having some published work concerning Alzheimer’s care givers and also Christianity.  I am working on one of her projects with her.  She does the writing and I am supposed to do the publishing preparations meaning using Microsoft Publisher and Word.  Not being as knowledgable as I’d like to be with those programs I am having to do some learning and am using a few words Jeanne wouldn’t approve of.  What she wants is half size pages printing 4 pages on a sheet using the front and back so it comes out about the size of a greeting card.  Unless I find a template for exactly that I am in for a lot of work.  Thanking God it isn’t one of her big projects.
4- Xanga comments, I do comment here and there.  I apologize for missing someone who thinks I shouldn’t.

The Diner Podcasts are right up my alley for listening.  They may be yours as well.   I am not super happy about his page organization for saving links but if I can do it, you can also.   The Diner Podcasts   This is his main page and lots of fun stuff here, I promise:  Lileks.com, Unpacking the Past with Joy and Ambivalence since 1996

Are you Smarter than a 5th grader:  CLICK HERE  This is a pretty fun TV weekly.  Refresh your learning when watching.  Believe me, they know more than I do and I am trying to keep track of a lot of the questions.  While I’m at it, the data base has a complete TV guide, DataBaseTV  SET IT FOR YOUR PART OF THE WORLD  and TVGuide. You can fix it for your part of the world also.

Movies, we are doing our Christmas shopping a little at a time.  Gifts include movies for everyone.  I purchased a set at Sam’s for $27.00 and Amazon listed it for $45.00.  I am going to use large M and M plain packs to add to my single disk gifts for both of my sis.  We all crave a bite of Chocolate and wrapped with a Christmas bow they will look festive.  What else will be included will depend on what I see that grabs me.  Some great places to shop, TJMaxx, Sams Club, Amazon.com, Bed Bath and Beyond, Bath and Body Works, and Cincinnati Murray Brothers Old Time Store for herbs, candies, spices.  They don’t have a website I can find.  The store is tiny and cram packed with goodies in glass cases to be measured out just like years ago.  We love to shop there during the holidays.

VOICE An EDIT:  If you appreciate a real voice you have to listen to this from Britain’s Got Talent:
Part 1 Paul Potts Sings and Part 2 Paul Potts Sings

Xangans, We are meeting this lovely lady Sparkling_Rainbow on Sunday for lunch at the School House Restaurant and playing with our camera’s.  They are another small business without a real website.  I am looking forward to the visit.

This is an Appleby’s Restaurant near us.  Their decor is pretty busy so fun to play with.

I should call it the View of the Headless as the image at the left looks as if his is gone.  I think he was leaning over as I haven’t been able to bring it out in the photo.

Family:  My daughter, Halie is doing some fun things with her photography.  She likes to live dangerously.  She lives somewhat dangerously with her camera.  You can check that statement out by visiting her site for some verification.   Eden is busy with school and extra activities.  It’s hard to keep up with what goes on.  I do know she has a lot of irons in the fire.

I hope everyone is well.  Have a great week.

  • You may not have posted for a while, but you gave us a mess of stuff to play with here!

That Appleby’s shot is cool – I would be shocked if I walked into the place and it really looked like that.

Now it looks like I need to explore some of those links – which to choose first?  Oh, I love to shop at Bath & Bodyworks, especially when they have sales!

Thanks for the online funspots – off to play!

  • Oh, and I just about fell out of my chair when I clicked on the Friendship site and the voice told me to add it to my favorites – I didn’t realize  I had the sound turned up!

  • Many varied interests Becky. Very informative. Thanks for the U-tube video on Cancer. I hope that that Guy is not stopped by the usual vested interests. Not quite sure what the underneath photo is all about, so expect to be grilled about it when we next speak. LOL!

  • You are one very busy lady. I tried the ” Smarter than 5th graders ” but failed abysmally as all the questions were about America – not my chosen subject Marie

  • As always, you are full of  choices, GF!  Wish the Indian food had been better for you!  I have never tasted that particular cousine.  Sounds interesting, though.  You know me, I like trying new things.  We just don’t have any close to us!  I LOVED Mr. Potts voice.  Quite a surprise, coming from such a shy man.

    hugs, Ethel

  • Your site is always fun and full of info!

  • I don’t like to live dangerously. That isn’t a true statement at all.

I like the altered image of the restaurant. Why don’t you just crop out the headless guy?

  • I can see where your daughter gets her gifted creative side

  • Don’t go nuts… go into Page Setup in Word, and define your page size 4.25 wide by 5.50 tall or the opposite. Set basic borders, and you are off. I’ll also encourage you to set the lines of type (“leading” in the old days) farther apart than Word suggests. Under Format > Paragraph > find line spacing and make it “exactly” something… 13.5 or 14 points for 11 point type, 15 for 12 point type. It will look much better, read much more easily…. and Garamond or Palatino…

  • Thinking of you God Bless

  • Camera and computer are become your work and art tools , and your main  sourrce of informations , Becca . And is not that good ?
I like the last modified photo : it looks like a stylised painting or drawing or again like a dream .
At the total , you have no time to be bored !
    Love
    Michel

  • I enjoyed our lunch. The altered Applebees shot is cool.
    *sparkle

  • I love that show Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader.  It’s so humbling too.. as many of the questions, I wouldn’t even dare answer, as I have no clue!
