An Eden update
Things are rolling right along towards the student leadership conference Eden will be attending. Copied from my daughters site, only a portion of an email they received from the director of the arts program:
“During the ten days that you will spend with our staff of highly talented and enthusiastic individuals, you will gain insight into all of the fine arts. We will look backwards to the history of the arts, and we will look forward to what the future of arts will offer. Additionally, we will hear from professional artists, musicians, architects, and actors, who will give us some tips on how to forge a career in the arts.
You will take several exciting field trips to some of New York’s artistic hot spots and you will have a chance to do some sight seeing! On the schedule now is a visit to the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Empire State Building, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Times Square, among other things _ so get those cameras ready! I am especially excited to share with you that we will be seeing “The Phantom of the Opera” on Broadway – this was the first Broadway show that I saw when I was a high school student, so I’m sure you will love seeing it live.”
Eden is very excited as is her mom who is scurrying around for last minute details.
Eden also went to the prom this year. A couple of photos with her handsome date, Brandon.
I took advantage of the opportunity to play with photographic error on the photo above. At first I thought Brandon had moved during the take but after study of the photo I decided it was the photographer who moved. I did some repair on the duplicate at the right and removed the shadow created by the shakiness of the camera to Brandon’s (left in the photo) from the head down and also it can be seen to the left side of Eden’s calf (left in the photo). There is a lot to be said about tripods which I often fail to use myself. The photos were taken by Halie, my daughter, and I think she won’t mind my having played with it or blaming her in this instance for what happens to me a lot.
I am assuming they had a nice time. I haven’t heard any complaints from either her or her mom. I think they looked terrific and I love Eden’s polka dots. Her great grandma loved polka dots so it must be a hereditary thing, the appreciation for them.
Another little getaway before Eden leaves for the conference, Halie made reservations in Washington DC for the Harry Potter Knight Bus tour. I wish I were going but I get so excited watching the movies the Knight Bus would probably do me in. I will share photos they take.
Best to everyone and a great weekend.
Becca

Exciting!
Strange but true ! I wore a black polka-dottted dreaa with red accessories for the wedding of my son Adrian some 23 years ago. ” They ” say that fashions come round and around. Eden looks lovely in her outfit and Brandon looks very smart.

ryc: Thanks so much for wanting to make a donation, but I left before seeing your message.. Oh well, maybe next year! I ended up raising over $500, which pleased me very much.
She is just darling! That smile

Michel
Beautiful kids. How grand!
I’m thrilled that you are enjoying the map. I’ll add more countries soon. The whole idea was just to make sure that we could learn to call places by their proper names. We don’t like people to mispronounce our names, and we should stop mispronouncing nation names as well. There is, after all, no nation called “Germany,” or “Austria,” or “Hungary,” or even “Italy” or “Spain.”
Sorry I haven’t been around that much making comments. I read your e-mail. Thank you for your comments. Things here are going well. I just don’t get a very good quality of sleep sometimes. We have ten days left in the term, that is time in the classroom, so two full weeks to go until we get a break. Hopefully I will get some good quality sleep between now and then.
Excellent pix of Eden. I hope that she reaches her goals.
Take care.
Such a perfect photo, something to be framed and hung on the wall in all the families houses.
Please read your message and reply . . . . . . . .
I was browsing through xanga and got here through the Poetry Challenge blogring.
I live in New York, but I know Brandon.
He was a counselor at Happening, a christian youth event that I attended.
This is a rather strange coincidence.
I thought you might find the connection interesting.
It is a nice photo of them.
They must have made a fine couple.
