YouTubes, Articles, Questions, very few answers
It’s been a long time since I wrote anything besides holiday wishes. I’ve been holding a lot in but I’ve been impressed, lately, with some people and things I decided to share.
YouTube video about a painting and an artist, Jon McNaughton. His website is http://www.mcnaughtonart.com/ where a beautiful variety of his art can be found. This video pertains to a beautiful piece of religious / political painting and it is one I wish I could purchase because the soul of the piece speaks to my own thoughts per conditions of our country, the U.S.A. and the privacy of my own spirituality.
Article: I received an email, also impressive so I did some Internet digging to make sure of the source. The man who wrote the article is Canadian and he wrote his personal feelings, impressions of where we are headed as a country. His name: Howard Galganov and his site address: http://www.galganov.com/ The particular article “I Told You So“ is located here > http://www.galganov.com/editorials.asp?ID=1147 < and is older but not ancient, dated July 23, 2009.After reading his views which most of you will recognize I agree with, I had to ask myself the question is he correct in his assumption / statement per, ” two things they will NEVER do“. As the article is not mine I give you the link to the read and if you are angry enough with me and my views, read it so you can become even moreso. I have no intention of argument back and forth but anyone is most welcome to post into my comments whatever opinion it is they have. I won’t even delete nastiness as I enjoy knowing others who read are viewing the content type some people’s minds have to offer. I’m not the quickest in an argument but have to say I hope Mr. Galganov is incorrect. Nothing rights itself if no one admits to being wrong so things can get back on track and our track needs some getting back to. Anyone who knows me knows I am more than willing to admit I am wrong if I believe I am and I do a lot of soul searching of myself, often. I hope others feel the same, if they have an about face in an opinion. No one is throwing anything anywhere, only expressing a hope that most people are bigger than holding on to a wrong instead or doing what they can to fix it.Another article written in February 09, 2009 by Star Parker, an excellent read from a young black American woman who feels close to the political scheme of things and is emotional about how they are going. See the article she wrote here: http://www.gopusa.com/commentary/sparker/2009/sp_02091.shtmlThe oil rig blow out, I’m sick about it and the destruction to the ocean, to ocean life, to the shore birds, to the dunes and beaches, to local tourist business that will be lost affecting not only the missed fun for the tourists but possible ruin of whole communities who depend on tourist trade for their sustained livlihoods. I have real emotional problems with the fact that highly efficient skimmers etc were offered for our use by other countries but the offers were turned down, and, FOR WHAT REASON???Israel: I have real problems with the mindsets of those who are ready to hang a nation who has been, from the beginning, our staunchest friend, politically and otherwise. Israels being looked at as a monster for doing what any country would have done, defend a blockade the whole world knew was there and the reasons they were there, makes next to no common sense to me especially as there was another entrance point that was open to those on the boat and their aid. Where is the intelligence I thought was within nations and individuals who I believed were so much wiser and who would have done exactly the same but will turn thumbs down when Israel does what it announced to the world it would do if the attempt was made to run their blockade. I think the blockade runners got exactly what they asked for and it’s just like the triksie runners of the Turkish boat to pull the stunt they pulled to deliberately make Israel look worse than she should have looked. Another view of suicidal idiots similar to those who strap bombs on their own children. Does anyone know what Israel looks like next to her giant neighbors who could if they wanted, make all of this go away but they are so filled with hatred for the tiny Jewish nation they are hell bent on making the oldest of prophecies come nearer to the actualities of today. Who knew we may in truth be soon facing the Tribulation predicted thousands of years ago. Very scary in my mind is what it is. Which leads me to another Editorial by Howard Galganov dated May 22, 2010, “I am Israel“, see it here http://www.galganov.com/editorials/5-22-2010/barack-obama-and-israel/i-am-israel/.The Jerusalem Prayer Team: If you would like to know more about what is going on in Israel or would like to support their efforts, go here: http://jerusalemprayerteam.org/Two Important YouTube videos for your viewing:Two books that should be purchased and read by Nonie Darwish. See her profile at Wikipedia.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonie_Darwish. She also heads this site FORMER MUSLIMS UNITED where you will discover invaluable information that will, hopefully, remove some heads from the sand. She has written two books both of which can be purchased at Amazon.com2- Now They Call Me Infidel: Why I Renounced Jihad for America, Israel, and the War on Terror [Hardcover]Geert Wilders, two short, tremendously interesting articles pertaining to Islam, from him. His home page is: http://www.geertwilders.nl/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 Here is a speech he gave in New York http://www.legal-project.org/article/192 andanother at the United Nations: http://www.geertwilders.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1535&Itemid=1 I am in hopes of buying his politically charged movie “Fitna” but have not come up with it yet. His life is endangered because of his making this particular film.Is their any real understanding by the citizens of the United States per why states within the United States are utilizing their right to be soverign? Give a really good look at the photos on this page: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread585949/pg1Another YouTube for you. I loved this one and can’t imagine anyone in the intelligencia of Xanga not understanding the implications of this video. And there is more, but I’ve released enough acid into my stomach because of the digging for these things to put up. I may add a little here and there. Is it better to grow old and have your mind die before your body or is it better to have your body give out but your mind be retained? Is it possible to grow old and have your mind and your body cease to function but your spirituality be saved?Becca

Good groef. Becca, I cannot believe I am the first to comment. As you know, I am not great on things political except in a very unlearned way. I love my country and believe I betray it if I do not vote. Other than that, I have not followed any of the trials and tribulations of late. Of course, I cried when I saw the damage done to the wildlife in the Gulf. As for Israel, I admire them greatly for their stand on terrorism and not allowing taking hostages to be a way to get revenge. What I really wanted to explore was your last paragraph. I just watched Frontline on PBS titled, “The Tourist Suicide”:. In Zurich there is a group named Dignitas that helps assist in suicide and this program followed a couple thru that process. If I have a choice, I would like my body to go first. I lost Mary to Alzheimer’s in Feb. and two other friends last year of this disease. It is a terrible disease and robs a person of their dignity and ties to their families. I do not want to die that way. However, I would not like to live with chronic pain so I would prefer massive doses of painkillers. Every year I grow older I am less and less afraid to die. I close my meditation each day with the Lord’s Prayer and when I finish, I ask Him if I can be with Him someday. That is my greatest wish.
What about you? How do you feel about the waning years of your life?
Sorry I misspelled grief!! I could not get the edit to work.
@Sojourner_here - You are not only the first but possibly the only reader who will leave a comment. I am not sure about who reads but I do know there will be few comments which is not unexpected. I write because what I write needs to be said, so I say it. I have no problem with my entry being ignored or read either way, I am doing what I feel is right and good. As far as my health, I’m growing older and wishing I wasn’t feeling it as much as I do. I think in answer to my question, my body will go before my mind and I hope no matter what happens I have a growing spirituality that will carry me off to a better place. After all is said and done, I am enjoying life as much as is possible taking photos to remind me there are some really beautiful things in God’s cretivity I am able to continue enjoying. Hoping you are finding your life as pleasant, werever it happens you are each day.
I, too, do not get “involved” in political discussions if I can help it. I think that there is so very much that we don’t know, and so much of what we are being fed through the media is what the “higher-ups” want us to think is right.
There are a couple things that DO frighten me, though. One is the increasing Muslim influence on America. Their beliefs are so far from my Christian beliefs. I don’t worry for myself, but for my grandchildren. I have seen the videos of Wilders before. Will check the other videos later. We have church later this morning, and don’t have much time now.
And the other frightening thing is the infiltration of the vicious and lawless Mexican drug lords into the Southwest. Now that our oldest son lives in the Phoenix area, it is more of a worry—especially regarding our grandkids.
What a world we are leaving to our descendents! With the advances in the last 50 yrs, the US is not as isolated and safe as it once was. So sad.
The oil spill is so tragic. It is mind-boggling!! I also think, that despite all our rules and regulations, there are going to be more and more man-made disasters that people will raise a cry about “how could we/they let that happen?” Historically, hindsight shows us the flaws, not foresight.
I get pessimistic at times, but keep trying to see the bright side, which seems to be getting dimmer!! lol
Yes, my body is giving out, too. Give me my mind and let my body go.
Ken keeps complaining that he gets tired more often. I have to keep reminding him that he is 73, and cannot do the things he did 20 yrs. ago. He complains that he has to take naps now. I wonder why. He only spends most of his day outside working in the yard or in the garage puttering with something or other. Also takes several bike rides a day. Today he is mowing—our lot is a 1/2 acre. Yesterday he did the edging, and in between does watering, weeding, etc..
Me, I get tired just doing the minimal housework! Of course, taking off at least 70 lbs. would help that problem! A lot of my problem has to do with my winter depression. Also, a couple of my heart meds make me lethargic. I am now off my blood thinner, which has made a difference, too. Or maybe it is the fact that summer is here. Whatever the reason, it is good to have a “little” more energy. Now, if I could just wean myself away from the computer………..
I agre with what Bev says above .
I want to not interfere with the US politic since I am French .
You have a good structure of thought ,Becka . For some points I would bring nuances . But is it useful ?
Love
