And unforgettable Irish fun with your little guys.

We watched our favorite Irish Movie last night, “The Quiet Man” and it was as good or better than ever.  Another of our favorites I’ll watch this evening, “Waking Ned“.  It’s a hoot.

     Irish blessings to everyone

    Have the best of weeks,
    Becca

  • St Patrick’s Day goes as unnoticed by most as do the days of Saints George, Andrew and David here, I only notice it because of you Americans saying it’s here.

I think in this case it’s partly because of the IRA bombings as was.

Here’s wishing you a good day anyway!

  • St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated on Saturday because today is in Holy Week. Zimbo is right about the fact that we don’t celebrate our patron saint’s days here, even in Ireland the celebrations are low key. Marie

  • The Vatican changed St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland to last Saturday to avoid conflict with Holy Week.  It must be fun to transmute holidays.

  • I’ve never seen Waking Ned.  Isn’t it Waking Ned Devine?  Always on the lookout for a good movie as I am so picky.  Hope your day was special.

  • I always knew it was St Patricks day when i still lived in england because i worked with an Irishman , he insisted we toasted St Paddy (many ,many times) , we never seemed to get much work done that afternoon! hic!

  • Love “The Quiet Man”.  Always one of my favorites and never miss a rerun if I can help it.

  • I passed the Quiet man bridge  just yesterday

  • @Zimbo - St georges  day is my birthday,  I always remember George

  • Beautifully done! Your pics are gorgeous!

I made the traditional corned beef and cabbage for dinner…that was enough Irish for me. It was a good day!

  • @OwenHiggins - Now that is really neat.  I have always said if I could ever travel it would be to Ireland and now I have something to list as a site to see.  I just looked it up on the internet and it’s fun reading.  Here in the states they did a movie called Bridges of Madison County.  That one isn’t far from us and I hope to see it, fact is, they can dump my ashes over it also.  That particular movie has a spot in my heart as well as The Quiet Man.

Nice to see you on my pages.

  • Love this post and such a lovely background…good job

  • Oh my God! To think I nearly missed this one! Becca I think you must have some Irish in you, you have hit the atmosphere perfectly. Especially in the first graphic, but the others are full of blarney too!

  • @graphic_excesses - Hi Tim, yep, I think I do have a bit O’ the Irsih in me.  I can remember my dad always dying his beard green for St. Pats.  I enjoy the days that give us something to think of other than the bad in the world and St. Pat’s Day is one of them.

A belated St. Pat’s day to you my friend.
